The Crack Monkey Cometh

Behold! The new object of my affections (for 2 minutes)!

Observe the amazingly postmodern off-beat rhythmic beating of the drum, pitted in sharp contrast against the regular hypotic swaying of the body. And all topped off with a knowing nod of the head, in cocky acknowledgement of your appreciation of his percussionistic talents. If Jimi Hendrix were a drum playing monkey on a swing, this is what he'd look like.

According to the box, his official Japanese name is Buranko Monkey. Translated, this means Swing ("Buranko") Monkey ("Monkey").

He's now found permanent residence in my room until his batteries run out.

Next Stop: Which Town?

2005/2006 Sem 2 Examination for SCIENCE 3

Module Code Module Title Grade
EL2101 STRUCTURE OF SENTENCES AND MEANINGS A
LSM2101 METABOLISM AND REGULATION D
LSM3232 MICROBIOLOGY B-
LSM3241 BIOINFORMATICS & BIOCOMPUTING B-
LSM3242 APPLIED MICROBIOLOGY B-
PC1326 PHYSICS IN THE LIFE SCIENCES B

My mind's a churning mix of excitement and maudlin thoughts (in other words it's totally mush now), so this isn't going to be the most coherent of posts. But in a nutshell, 2101's FINALLY been unceremoniously dumped out of the way, and so I'm graduating! Makes one wonder why I didn't do this sooner though, things coulda/shoulda/woulda been so different. Those other results ain't much to shout about, but at least they range from average to rather good actually, thus confirming what I've suspected all along - (a) I'm not THAT stupid, and (b) 2101 totally fucked me over.

Still. Just wanna thank anyone and everyone who's helped in some way to keep my spirits up (failing the same mod 3 sems in a row isn't exactly the best reason for cheer), and thank God for helping me through this as well. I'm happy. But not really. Sure beats being retained for a sem at least.

Proof of my incoherence -

You're electric, and I'm out in the rainstorm/
You're the virus that's running through my veins/
You're a danger, like Love and Radiation/
seeping into my brain

You're the One I've been waiting for/
You're my rocket to the sky/
You're the diving board/
standing seven storeys high
You're the ???/
like a jet on fire/
push me out and see if i can/
FLY

And just like that, one of my fave Christian bands of the 90s has reemerged, with the original lineup, to slam right back into my consciousness. That's right, ASU are back.

Out May 14th 2006. Check out their new tracks here.

Now go celebrate, all 2 of you out there.
