Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating. no cheating, please

Same rules, no repeat artists, and I've omitted (some of) the really, really, really obscure ones, so no New Pornographers or TV On The Radio here. Oh and non-English ones too - my kanji ain't that hot.
Also, I've expanded a lot of the first lines into couplets instead; figured it'd be easier to guess while minimising the cheeyyyy-i-wouldn't-have-gotten-that-anyway-pfffffft factor.
